Your complete guide to the multiplier crash game

Cash out before the multiplier crashes!

The Concept

Bustabit is a multiplier crash game. Place your bet, watch the multiplier rise from 1.00x, and cash out before it crashes. The longer you wait, the higher your potential reward — but also the risk. If you don't cash out in time, you lose your bet.

How a Round Works

  1. Place Your Bet — Choose your bet amount and optionally set an auto-cashout multiplier.
  2. Waiting for Players — The round stays open until the first bet is placed, which triggers a 10-second countdown.
  3. Betting Closes — After the countdown, no more bets are accepted.
  4. Multiplier Rising — Watch the multiplier grow from 1.00x. Decide when to cash out.
  5. Cash Out or Crash — Click the cashout button to lock in your profit, or wait and risk the crash.
  6. Round Settled — Winners are paid, the seed is revealed for verification, and a new round starts after a 2-second cooldown.

Manual vs Auto-Cashout

Manual Cashout: Click the cashout button whenever you want to lock in your profit. You have full control over your exit point. The risk? Timing and network latency can cause you to miss the optimal exit. The reward? Potentially higher multipliers if you time it right.

Auto-Cashout: Set a target multiplier before the round starts. The system will automatically cash you out when reached — no timing risk, guaranteed cashout at your target. The limitation is you're locked to your preset target, even if the game goes higher.

Pro tip: You can combine both strategies! Set an auto-cashout as a safety net, but manually cash out earlier if you want.

How Cashout Works

Blockchain transactions take seconds to confirm. In a crash game where milliseconds matter, waiting for on-chain confirmation would make manual cashout impossible. That's why the server records your cashout instantly.

All cashouts are verified and settled on-chain when the round ends. The server submits your cashout to the smart contract, which validates it against the crash point. Your winnings are credited on-chain. The crash point is mathematically predetermined before you bet — the server cannot change it after your cashout.

Profit Limits

To ensure the game can always pay winners, we use a Kelly-style risk management system. Each bet has a maximum profit limit based on the current bankroll size:

  • Individual Limit (2%) — Your bet can win up to 2% of the bankroll as profit. For example, with a $100 bankroll, your maximum profit per bet is $2.
  • Collective Limit (2.5%) — All bets in a round combined can win up to 2.5% of the bankroll.

If the multiplier reaches your profit limit, you're automatically cashed out at the maximum allowed multiplier. This "forced cashout" protects both you and the game by ensuring payouts are always guaranteed.

Example: You bet $1 with a $100 bankroll. Your max profit is $2, so your forced cashout is at 3.00x ($1 bet × 3.00x = $3 total = $2 profit). If the multiplier reaches 3.00x before crashing, you're automatically cashed out.

Withdrawing Your Winnings

Your winnings accumulate in an internal balance stored in the smart contract. This allows for instant crediting after each round without waiting for separate transactions.

When you want to withdraw, click the "Claim" button in the game interface. This triggers a transaction that transfers your balance from the smart contract directly to your connected wallet. For security, the smart contract uses a "pull payment" design pattern — instead of automatically sending you funds (which can be exploited), you initiate the withdrawal yourself.

Tips for New Players

  • Start Small — Begin with small bets to learn the game dynamics before increasing your stakes.
  • Use Auto-Cashout — Set an auto-cashout for consistent, lower-risk profits. 1.5x - 2x are popular targets.
  • Risk Management — Never bet more than you can afford to lose. Set a budget and stick to it.
  • Verify Rounds — Use the Provably Fair page to verify any round. Every result is mathematically proven.
